A countdown timer is useful when it is easy to read from across the room and keeps accurate time even when you switch to another tab. This one counts down to a fixed end time and sounds a short alarm, made right in your browser, when it reaches zero. Nothing is sent or stored, and the sound is generated on your device, with no files to download.
